Hello all... so sorry I've been away for the past 2 months but I've been busy with holiday traveling and final exams, looking at colleges and other "blah" activities. I was going to post on christmas eve for my 1-year LJ anniversary but my internet connection was down!
Merry belated Christmas and Happy New Year! Current Mood: busy

|Even I knew this was a rip-off...
So a few days ago my mum & I went to a music store in town to do a little viola shopping; the day before we got a call from the same store and they told us there was 1 viola in stock, so I was thinking /ok that's fine/
I sort of assumed it would be new or "lightly used" but the thing looked like someone buffed it with sandpaper!
Ok not only did it *look* awful but when I asked the year on it, the manager said '73! When I tried it out all the strings were really sharp or maybe just plain screwed up... The one I have now is `02 so my choice is between the scraped-up, screechy wooden dinosaur or my slightly too-small-but-only-made-5-years-ago version with a few chips & a screwy D string but still plays pretty good...I'll keep the latter thankyouverymuch.
Oh yeah, did I mention the store wanted $800 for the scrap wood? Current Mood: indifferent

Okay, today I decided a few things scare me. Here they are:
1) Britney Spears behind the wheel of a car
2) Bugs that climb into your ears while you sleep
3) Movies that take place in an alternate universe where Santa Clause is real
4) George Lopez's....suggestive lines in his show (ew)
5) Kelly Ripa
6) Those '24' skits on MADtv
Woah, that was really random. My day went by really fast; I went to the stables for a few hours of riding, went to Old Navy, bought 2 shirts, 1 pair of jeans and pajama pants, watched 23 minutes of "Mean Girls", ate a chicken sandwich, went to IMdB to complain about how terrible "Chuck" and that caveman show are and then wrote this. Great. Current Mood: uncomfortable

Happy Halloween everyone!
I love Halloween...the candy, the parties, the episode of 'Friends' where Chandler & Monica have a costume party and Chandler's goes as a rabbit...good times.
Last week I had a Halloween party, here's some pictures of my decorations and stuff.
Here's the cupcakes I baked (they're supposed to be mummies)
My Brother's "Stabbing Victim" Jack-o-Lantern
And here's a tree on my property that my friends and I hung glow-sticks from when I took everyone on a night walk
Here's a quiz
|What Your Halloween Habits Say About You|
You are an outgoing person who's a bit of a showoff. It's likely that you dress up for Halloween every year.
You definitely think of yourself as someone who has a dark side. And part of having that dark side means not showing it.
Your inner child is creative, patient, and whimsical.
You fear those closest to you finding out who you really are. You dread people discovering your secrets.
You're logical, rational, and not easily effected. Not a lot scares you... especially when it comes to the paranormal.
You are unique, expressive, and a trendsetter. Your ideal Halloween costume is over the top and one of a kind.
Well, I don't really dress up every year but some of my past costumes were Disney characters (hey, it was the early 90's!), a witch 2 years in a row, a biker chick and an FBI agent. Well, those were the ones I remember Current Mood: amused

Okay, so I guess I posted something about my wisdom teeth a while ago, about how I needed to get them removed? Well that's what I did today.
Since my school gave us 2 days off, my parents scedueled IT for today.
They sat me in a chair, pumped gas into my nose and stuck an IV in my arm about 118636252 times. Now I have a very *colorful* bruise there...
So when I woke up 2 hours later, my lips were collagen-ized, my mouth full of gauze and a bandage wrapped around my head "A Christmas Carol" style.
My tongue feels really sore...I think the surgen cut it up with the while my teeth were being yanked out an my gums feel sort of like when I got my braces five years ago only sort of the opposite effect...
The stiches feel really numb and scrathcy and my tongue just feels like picking at them all the time! Oh well...at least I have the pain meds!
Oh, and i wasn't awake but I don't think it looked like this! Current Mood: sore

|New Quiz Source
So I found this new quiz place.... quizgalaxy.com
Yeah, that's definitely me...
And here's one in favor of tomorrow:
What will happen on the first day of school?
|• Becca will tell your teacher that you have a crush on them|
|• Dawn will skip the first day... and probably the second|
|• Bri will run around in circles to celebrate the first day of school|
|• Lila will come to school wearing only a potato sack and say 'don't ask.'|
|• Anne will invite you to be their alter-ego superhero sidekick|

Geez, this seems semi-possible, too. Current Mood: creative
|In the News
Kay, so I'm going back to school tomorrow...how utterly depressing.
I've done like, so much this summer.
Here's only a few I could think of: Watched the Discovery Channel for 5 hours straight,
went to Driver's Ed for 2 weeks-during which I watched about a million-bazillion videos starring animated crash-test dummies,
got my license,
ran over a rabbit statue,
became a year older,
got totally addicted to The Sims 2,
spent a week in New York with The Mob (aka my family, thankyouverymuch)
saw all the Pirates of the Caribbean & Lord of The Rings movies,
learned English style riding,
read a stack of magazines,
got a tan,
lost my tan,
started to hate "America's Got Talent",
celebrated birthday at the Mall of America with 4 of my closest friends,
was visited by Lila*,
almost got kidnapped along with Lila*,
had a totally awkaward experience at my Aunt & Uncle's house, watching my uncles fav movie which happened to be "Don Juan DeMarco"....
got a mosquito bite the size of a thumbnail on the bottom of my foot,
bought 34 songs from iTunes,
grew out my hair,
cut my hair,
hosted 2 bonfire soirees,
developed an annoyance of Wayne Brady, Kelly Ripa, Jonah Hill and Luke Wilson,
watched countless reality shows,
pitied Owen Wilson,
aaaand sent about 75 emails, receiving about the same number in return . Current Mood: nostalgic

I'm finally posting again; been majorly busy these past few weeks.
Today I had to go back to MHS so I could get my ID card, schedule, locker assignment etc, etc.
My ID picture is super-crap but it looks like Angelina freakin' Jolie compared to my old picture. I wasn't so sure about wearing green...after all, my skin is really pale since my tan faded from all the rain & clouds we've been getting but like I said, it's not so bad.
I also discovered that my new locker has a big stain on it that looks suspiciously like nacho cheese. Lucky me. At least it opens; Becca's is right next to mine but it's harder to move than a clump of tar.
On a darker note: it's finally arranged for me to have all my wisdom teeth pulled and you just *know* I'm looking forward to that. It's so weird 'cause I've never had surgery before, not even dental surgery where you only get your teeth cut out instead of an organ or bone or whatever.
All of that *and* the 3 Meningitis shots! Current Mood: sleepy
|Sunday, August 5th, 2007|
So I can finally drive now; actually, I have for a few weeks but haven't bothered mentioning anything here. It's quite simple...kind of like drawing in a coloring book: stay inside the lines. Of course, I have been doing it since I was 13 but my dad decided to put our lessons to a halt after a security guard threatened to call the cops on us, back then. (Before it was legal for me)
Anyway, no accidents so far, except last Thursday when I ran over one of our rabbit garden statues while backing out of the driveway (What was it doing there, anyway!?). No big deal, though; told my mother the UPS man ran it over.
Now I'm being a LOT more careful...having a spiral driveway, these things are more likely to happen, I guess.
Now I even have a car since my dad got a second truck for hauling horse trailers. It's small, red and almost as old as me but it's fine. Not exactly my Grandfather Constantino's Lambourghini, but I have no complaints :) Current Mood: rejuvenated

Just heard today: My cousin's unit is being sent to Iraq.
Looks like he'll be back next December, hopefully; He's a Marksman but I don't know what he's going to be doing while there... Current Mood: frustrated
|Sunday, July 29th, 2007|
It's been a slow weekend.
Dawn and I went to see the new Harry Potter movie on Friday...mostly because we didn't have anything better to do.
It was either that or Hairspray: Choosing between John Travolta in a dress, singing about Baltimore or a group of twenty-somethings playing teenage wizards was suprisingly easy for me.
After that I went to WalMart and got my mother some Bon Jovi CDs for her birthday and some Juicy Couture perfume for myself (I didn't even know they *sold* perfume). Who knew WalMart wasn't *entirely* full of crappy polyester and expired tomato sauce?
Isn't my life incredibly exciting? Lol Current Mood: indifferent

Once again, I have changed my lookup.
Just as I had predicted, Lila and I got into a little...trouble. Well, more like..almost getting KIDNAPPED.
This is how the story goes: Lila and I were riding on two mountain bikes, a few blocks over from my house, when we stop at a corner with a creepy-looking Latino guy in a silver car, already there.
We glance at him and he looks back at us. We turn down a cul-de-sac and he starts to follow us; we didn't worry at first, figuring he probably lived in one of the houses. Well, he drives ahead, to the end of the street and stops the car. I'm getting suspicious, so I yell to Lila, telling her to turn around now, about 60 feet away from the Lewd Latino(as I call him when I re-account this little *experience*).
As we biked out of there, she looked back and screamed "Oh, my GOD! He's coming after us!" That really scared the shit out of me! Especally when I glanced back, and saw his car screeching around in the turnabout, heading in our direction. Then *he* yells something in Spanish or something, and *I* screamed back at *Lila*, saying we had to get back to my house *now*. Living in a private community, no creep-ass guy can just waltz in, so we biked about as fast as freakin' *possible* down a shrubby, roadless hill that cuts through a field, into the neighbourhood. Pedaling down there, we *just* made it down, off the road, with the Lewd Latino off our asses by about 20 feet.
The ride down was pretty bumpy, but mountain bikes are....mountain bikes, so once we made it to my property, dumped our bikes by the pool, and ran into my house.
We were freaked out of our minds, so the rest of our afternoon was spent watching the Game Show Network.
This was like, number 1 on my list of "Stuff Creepy Guys Have Done to Me".
I think I'm going to spend the next week hanging around in my house, away from random jerks in silver cars. Okay, it *is* a little funny now, a few days later :) Current Mood: exhausted

|New York, Lila and My Hair
It's great to be back from vacation; usually by the time they're over, I want a vacation from my vacation!
It wasn't that bad, though. I saw all my family members from NY and Cali that I haven't seen since I was 7 or 8, and WOW: they were all so old looking!
Most of my mom's brothers have grey hair now. Of course, I got the "Oh my god, you've grown up" comments and I even taught my uncle's man how to text message.
The airports were a royal pain, though. It would be nice to walk into an airport and be able to keep your shoes, but I understand - as the constant intercom messages said, " [In female voice]The national security is at level...ORANGE[Deep male voice]". They do have nice giftshops, though. I got Becca a stuffed pink monkey wearing an "I *heart* NY" t-shirt.
So today I got a call from my oldest friend, Lila. We've known each other since we were 7, when she moved here from Arizona and we were pretty much inseparable until she moved back about 4 years ago cause of her dad's car bussiness. She usually blows back into town once or twice a year, though and it's always great to see her, even though we usually get caught up into some kind of chaos; when she visited back in '04, we actually set my carpet on fire. At least now I know that perfume and a BBQ lighter make a good blowtorch.
I can't believe summer is like, half over. The highlights I got last August are practically inexistant. That's a good thing, though; I'm trying to get my hair back to it's natural color. (I'm not sure I remember what it is). It's also *really* long now...almost down to my ass. Must remember to get it cut. Current Mood: excited
|Tuesday, July 10th, 2007|
Well everyone, as of 10:10 today (on the tenth) I became another year older. Kind of sad; now I only have a month and a half before I return to highschool once again. Yay.
Putting that aside, it was a pretty good birthday with some awesome gifts. (Too bad half of them are still in the mail)
So for dinner, we went out to this Greek restaurant with the best saganaki*. My dad even paid the waitress to set it on fire at our table; that was cool but I wasn't expecting it, so I was quite alarmed by the flaming plate in front of me!
Back on subject - Here's what I got so far:
- 3 movies (Zoolander, The Devil Wears Prada and Little Miss Sunshine)
- about 60 bucks in giftcards
- Season 1 of My Name is Earl
- a few American Eagle shirts
- a Juicy Couture necklace
- a silver ring with a peridot stone
- some misc. cash from distant family
- The Sims 2 Deluxe version (from James, probably so *he* can use it!)
- a ton of books (including an Amy Tan biography and The Crucible)
- fancy paper for my printer
- Monty Python
- A Itzhak Perlman & John Williams CD
aaaand that's all for know.

OKay, so for those of you who don't know me in real life, here's a little "me" fact: I am Catholic.
Now, I'm not starting some weird religion rally here or anything but I just wanted to talk about it a little bit.
It has just occured to me now, while talking on the phone with someone about religion, that I have not been confirmed.
I have stayed non-confirmed for a while by choice (the age of confirmation around here is about 13 or 14) and since I'm about 2 or 3 years past the normal confirmation age, I have been thinking about having it done, finally.
I just...want to take on this part of me that I think I should have.
Does that sound weird? Sorry if it does :)
To be confirmed you have to pick the name of a saint for your "official Catholic name" and I'm thinking about choosing Saint Phobe or Saint Regina. Well I'm still working on it. I also like St.Bridget and then theres St. Susanna....I never realized how many saints there were! Current Mood: confused

|Maury's People Suck - and I Rock!
Maury again! Guess what - a whale of a woman (a caucasian, of course) wants to tell her garter snake of a husband (again, my theory is right) that she's been cheating on him with 2 different guys.
I swear I choked on my popcicle.
I mean, I was thinking, "Who did she cheat on him with, a bucket of fried chicken and a funnel cake?" Bleh!
Anyway, I got my report card today and I passed every class, yay! I even made honor roll! I was freaked out about my Algebra class, but I even passed that. *jumps on table and dances a little jig*
Okay that was weird.
Well, goodnight. Current Mood: accomplished

|You Are Not the Father - Maury Revealed
I'm watching the MAURY show right now; the first time I saw the show was about two years ago and I must say, it gets very repetative.
It seems that most of the ladies are either an obese white lady with a skinny, pin-headed trailer-park boyfirend with names like Delmar or Billy Bob,
while the other majority of women are usually among the black-with-some-tacky-hairdo (often dyed red) with pointy shoes & talks like she's mentally impaired, variety.
Her man is usually a dredlocked or cornrowed dude with a name like Akbar or Junior, in a basketball jersey or something.
When Maury does the paternity test, and the man is NOT the father, the fat mother screams and runs off the stage in drunken hysterics while the man jumps around the stage.
However, when the man tested IS the father (which is somewhat more rare) the woman will stick her ugly face in the greasy man's space and scream "I told you so!" , like a banshee resurrected from the grave. They have NO shame or dignity!
Like THAT'S going to get the guy to support their bastard childen! Yeah, right!
On a happer note, these meme's must be getting annoying but they're so much fun! Try it, this one was fun.
